No more Red Ring of Death (Xbox 360 250GB)
Jun 30th

It seems the much dreaded Red Ring of Death which plagued the classic and elite Xbox 360s will not be an issue for the new Xbox 360 owners. The main reason why so many Xbox 360s got the Red Ring of Death was due to overheating. But with the new Xbox 360, this is no longer an issue.
The first reason, which is obvious from the post image, is the preventative measures that come with the new Xbox. If the Xbox overheats a message pops up letting the owner know the Xbox will be shutting down and can only be turned off when it has cooled back down.
The second is a very simple one. There are no more red L.E.D lights on the power button of the Xbox. So even if your Xbox were to have the same issues that caused the Red Ring of Death, it will most probably just flash a green light.
Steve Jobs responds to iPhone 4 antenna issues. We are holding it wrong?
Jun 30th

How Steve Jobs wants us to hold the iPhone 4
It should be pretty well known by now that the iPhone 4′s antenna is located on the bottom left hand side of the phone. And when this part of the phone is held, the reception on the phone dramatically drops and even in some cases the call is dropped (see image).
Well, an iPhone 4 owner sent an e-mail to Steve Jobs regarding this issue. See below for the response.

iPhone 4: Hands On Review
Jun 25th
Although the iPhone 4 sold out pretty much everywhere yesterday, I managed to get my hands on this new piece of hardware for an honest and opinion based review for your reading pleasure.
HARDWARE
Being the owner of the HTC HD2 with its huge 4.3″ screen and the iPod Touch 2G with its 3.5″ screen, every time I handled my iPod Touch after using my HD2, it felt like I had a lot of free space in my hand which I didn’t like the feel off. I was expecting the same feeling with the iPhone 4 which has the same screen size. I was however pleasantly disappointed. It felt very nice to the touch and very durable (although proven otherwise by iFixYourI).
SOFTWARE
What can I say about the iOS 4 that hasn’t already been said? It looks good, is very smooth, responsive and packed full of features. It has to be said, regardless of how much you may dislike Apple, they do know how to make things we’re already used to look, a lot better.
iPhone 4 release (UK)
Jun 25th
Yesterday marked the release of the iPhone 4 to the much anticipating public. Many stores were sold out of the iPhones in a matter of hours. Some stores like O2 were giving those upgrading their contract phones priority of the handset to those planning on buying the handset on pay-as-you-go. In a lot of the stores, contact details were taken down of those who were unable to grab themselves an iPhone yesterday and were told they would be notified as soon as it was back in stock. Some received the option of having the new iPhone delivered to their addresses in a couple of days.
The image you’re seeing above was taken on the corner of the Apple store in Regent Street, Oxford Circus, London(Because security were instructed to prevent pictures being taken at the front of the store). This should however give you an idea of how long the queue was. Hit the link below to see more photographs of people queueing in the hopes of getting an iPhone.
iOS4 First Impressions (iPod Touch 2g Before Jailbreak)
Jun 20th
Firstly it needs to be stated that my iPod Touch 2G does not have all the features that come with the iOS4 (wallpapers, multitasking, etc) as stated by Apple.
Now, the most noticeable thing about this update is the speed and smoothness. It has a few new visual tweaks that make the new OS more aesthetically pleasing. Nothing much more to be said there.
The next thing to be mentioned is the folders (an example is the image to the left). You simply drag one app onto the other that you both want in a folder, the name for the folder is decided automatically by the genre of apps and it’s as simple as that. The folders can however only hold up to 12 apps. Changing the name of a folder is easy as holding down the apps till they shake, tap on the folder and you’ll see something similar to this, tap on the name box and change the name of the folder to anything of your choice.
Also, if you have a app in the folder that supports push notifications, when you do get a notification you get get a number icon on the top right of the folder (example) like you would for the mail app, showing how many notifications you have in one of the apps in the folder.
I believe that is all that is worth mentioning. As you most likely gathered from the title. I will be jailbreaking this device to see what possibility it holds. Supposedly the jailbreak unlocks the features that apple didn’t allow for the “slower” devices (wallpapers, multitasking, etc) automatically after the jailbreak. Stay tuned for an update of how that goes.
My iPod Touch 2G running iOS4 (firmware 4)
Jun 20th
I just literally updated my iPod touch 2G to have the latest firmware iOS4 which is due to be released tomorrow (21st June). I will put it through some intensive tests after synchronizing all my files for the first time on the new firmware. I will post updates of what new features I find. Seeing as I do not own the iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 3G, I do not expect to have all the features that the new firmware can offer.
Let’s get cracking.
