New Android Market app rolling out [Improved UI] (updates)
A new Android Market .apk is on rollout for all Android devices running Android 2.2 (Froyo) and above.
This update brings new features to the Android Market such as the ability to rent movies and “brings the world’s largest collection of digital books to your phone”.
From the video preview from Google below, it does seem to be a very much improved Android Market. But I can’t help but notice the slight similarity with the new interface and Microsoft’s Metro UI used in Zune in Windows Phone 7 handsets.
See the source link for more details as you wait patiently for your prompt to update your Android Market.
update: The Google Mobile Blog has made it clear the movie and book rental from the new Android Market is currently only available for those “In the US”.
update 2: The new Android Market .apk is now available (thanks to the guys at xda) for those who can’t wait. Scan the QR Code or click the download link to get it straight to your device.
