Sywpe for iOS gets updated and re-branded. Now known as iSwipe

iSwipe (as it’s now know) has received an update which takes it now to beta 3. When it was first unofficially released for iOS, there were few features lacking in comparison to the Android and Windows Mobile versions. But all that seems to have been rectified with the latest update.

Probably the most noticeable change since the update is the blue tracer line that follows the user’s finger gestures. The fact that this feature was not included in the original release was a bother for some users. Especially those that had used the keyboard before on other mobile OSes.

The update also now allows for the keyboard to be used in more applications than just the built-in iOs apps. It seems to have been integrated into all third party apps.

And finally, the most useful feature since the update is the alternate word selection bar just above the keyboard [see image right]. If memory serves me correctly, I don’t believe both the Windows Mobile and Android version had this feature. It is most definitely a welcomed feature.

To get iSwipe on your iOS device you will need to be Jailbroken and follow the instructions in the original Swype post.
