It’s a good day for aspiring Windows Phone 7 developers or just WP7 users with an enthusiasm for homebrew apps. The Chevron team has re-released its WP7 app sideloading tool after striking a deal with Microsoft to make this tool available to the public without legal ramifications. There is a catch now though however, the service costs $9 per device you would like to unlock with this tool and you will need a LiveID.
The Chevron tool could be useful to WP7 users in areas that the Marketplace doesn’t cover. It will make it possible for them to sideload apps in the form of .xap files unto their devices.
